Try out this delicious green smoothie recipe I just made, featuring some delicious fruits and vegetables!
One neat trick I use a lot with bananas is chunking them up and freezing them before they go bad. They make a great addition to a smoothie, and you can also make fun recipes like Nice Cream with them.
Blueberries are a moderate-sugar fruit, which is one of the reasons I pair them with bananas, which are a higher sugar fruit. I tend to balance out my smoothies by choosing not to use 2 high sugar fruits together (tropical fruits are generally higher in sugar, while berries are generally a moderate to low sugar fruit).
Blueberries are also one of the most antioxidant-rich food sources, and they’re a great source of fiber and Vitamin C. There was a study done that showed that consuming blueberries post-exercise sped up recovery and reduced biomarkers for inflammation.
They work great frozen or fresh, and you can use them in so many ways!
