Happy Monday, Rockstar!
It’s great to see you. I know you have some amazing goals to conquer this year, and I’m here to help you get there!
In the Rock Your Life community each week we have an inspiring “word of the week” that we focus on as we progress through each day to help us stay focused. This week, our word is INTEGRITY.
To me, integrity is about the congruence between the daily conversations I have with myself and the consequential actions I take.
It’s not about always doing things perfectly (what does that even mean, anyway?!), doing them the way someone else is doing them, or trying to hit the perfect target dead in the center every time.
Say for example I set the goal for myself this year to dial in my eating and add better nutrition to my life. I wouldn’t be failing myself if I didn’t suddenly start a major diet and eliminate all my favorite foods, and quit going out with my friends for a cocktail on the weekend.
Setting goals is awesome, but you’re not out of integrity with yourself just because you didn’t do the most extreme version of achieving them in the past 10 days.
Being in integrity with yourself – in my opinion – is about doing the best YOU can do with the tools and information available to you in the present moment that you are in.
It’s about getting clear on the core values that matter to you, and living in alignment with them. I believe that our values are like the strongest pull of a personal “compass” that helps us find our true North, and that when we follow what we know to be right, we create the happiest, healthiest and most productive version of ourselves possible.
It’s easy to look around and see people who appear to be deviating from what we think is right, but a) everyone is doing the best they can from their highest level of consciousness, and b) it’s important to be more mindful of what we ourselves are doing than worrying about what someone else is or isn’t doing.
I’ll keep this short and sweet since I put all the best stuff in the video for you – be sure to leave me a comment below and let me know what parts of the video resonated with you and how you feel about the way you’re honoring your commitments.
Share this with a friend using the share buttons if you think it would benefit them!
And thanks – as always – for being one of the most important people in my life and being part of my FitFam!
